Internship Overview
Boston History & Innovation Collaborative (a not-for-profit organization, established in 1997) promotes the prosperity of the Boston region by working as a catalyst for the understanding and celebration of Greater Boston’s history and culture of innovation.
The Internship Position:
- Historical research projects
- Research projects focusing on compilation of Development and Marketing targets and information
- Assist in developing Marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, letters, etc…
- Follow up with potential clients and answer questions from the public
- Develop and maintain Marketing plans and databases including circulation, costs per unit, target markets and indicators for measuring effectiveness.
- Assist with grant proposals, including writing and compiling information
- Support planning activities of yearly fundraising event
- Support Staffing: Faxing; Delivering; Copying; Mailings
- Possible web site management
Scope:
15-20 hours per week, 7-14 weeks; times/days are flexible. Intern must commit to 3 days a week, although several hours 5 days a week is preferred. Most of the work is on site at our office in Kenmore Square.
Stipend & Qualifications:
$250 - $500 stipend at end of internship. Excellent interpersonal, computer, written and oral skills; Word, Excel and Outlook competency required, and flexibility desirable. Graphic design and web development skills a big plus.
Internships are offered year-round on a semester basis: fall, spring, and summer. Undergraduate or graduate students (ideally with a background in History and/or Communications) are welcome to apply.
